Elegant French Antique brass candlesticks from the late 1800's.
Brass is an alloy of normally 65% Copper and 35% Zinc and is golden yellow.
Reducing the zinc content produces a deeper colour towards reddy brown as is apparent in the rich lustre of these pieces.
Could be polished with Brasso but why change the patina that only a long life gives?
